For the Love of the Sun

When I was much younger, I would try to avoid the sun as much as I can because I want to have a fair complexion which is typical for most Filipinas. Yes, I went through that stage when the notion of being beautiful is if you're pale as a vampire lol!.  But when I started exploring our country and saw how beautiful our beaches were, I started not caring at all!

Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte

Anilao, Batangas

Panglao, Bohol

Summer is in a couple of weeks from now and I can't wait!

Dinner at Yakimix

This post is dedicated to my friend Liz.  Come with us next time!

We always peel the shell off the shrimps first, dip it in
satay sauce and grill. Yummy!

I try to cut down on my meat intake, so more sushi and sashimi for me.

The desserts are always a fail though.  Aside from the Selecta ice creams, the cakes, tarts and other sweets are just a waste of time and space (in my tummy).

Just papaya and oranges for me

This is becoming a regular thing already.  But I'm not complaining!

My head aches thinking how would I lose weight if I'm always eating in
buffets at least twice a week.

P.S.  Please please bring back Mango Sago to the buffet.  After meal, most people would order coffee, it's mango sago for me.

For some strange reason, they always give us the same exact table.
The table nearest to the buffet!  As I've said, no one's complaining. *wink*

Royal K Restaurant

Buffet for half the price sounds appetizing, so after postponing a dining trip to Royal K Restaurant since I can't remember when, I finally made a reservation just to make sure we don't wait for a table. We arrived exactly 6pm to avoid the Friday night traffic and the rush of customers, because from what I've heard, the place transforms to chaos come dinner time.  Just the night before, they had 500 customers to serve to and I don't want to waste precious time waiting for the orders to arrive.

But all the preparation were still not enough.  Yes, we didn't had to wait for a table (we were the 2nd customer in the restaurant) but the service is so slow!  It took us 10 minutes to order because the wait staff were too busy with all the preparation, which should be done before they open right?  Also, I did not expect that since we were paying for half the price, half of the menu would also be unavailable.

5 minutes after ordering

Still smiling

10 minutes

Red tea arrived

Another 20 minutes, or maybe more

M-A-D!

Finally!

Sweet and sour fish fillet.  A bit too sweet, well, the plate came with a warning.

Sisig was okay, nothing special

Tempura.  They used pancake batter! Anoba!

Steamed fish was the best dish in their menu.

Salmon sashimi.  Still frozen when served.

California rolls were good

Another round

Mixed sushi

We have to constantly follow up on our additional orders from time to time.  The waiters don't even carry a paper to write to so they keep forgetting what we ordered.

Buti na lang I have a big heart.

Just a piece of advice:  Arrive early and order as much as you can immediately!

Sundate at Lemuria ♥♥♥

This post is a month overdue.  But the memories are still vivid as it was one lovely Sunday morning.

The place is so beautiful.

Lemuria remains as exclusive and secluded today as it did when it first threw its doors open as a gourmet fine dining restaurant.  It's mystical name still arouses curiosity but patrons have kept coming back for its French-Mediterranean cuisine and the wide selection of wines offered straight from the cellars of Brumms Quality Wines, Inc.

Cozy. Intimate. Romantic

I have a thing for French brick walls

 On the table

Homemade breads.  I especially loved the walnut ones.

Chicken royale with braised leeks

Pan roasted US top blade with potato gratin, sauteed mushrooms in red wine reduction

Ice cream made from scratch.  Lavander and apricot flavor.

One more look and I melt.

Chocolate molten lava cake

Because special people only deserve the best.

Nido Science Discovery Center

For all the Science enthusiasts and closet geeks (like someone I know), there's one place you shouldn't dare miss if you're in the Mall of Asia.

The Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center (NFSDC) is the first Technology-Based, Highly Interactive Science Learning theme park in the country, housed in a 3000 square meter, two-level facility in the SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.   The center houses nine walk-through galleries, many of which contain interactive stations that enhance visitor experience.

Media City is one of the four galleries that can be found on the first level. It features the Gesturetek, where players can interact with and move around various 3D virtual environments using simple body movements.

Then there's the popular Grossology station, where kids can learn about the ways and quirks of the human body. Here they'll enjoy the hands-on experience of "operating" on a mock human body in the Patients Please section, minus the blood.

Interactive fun at the NIDO FORTIFIED Science Discovery Center continues at the Transportation Nation. You can build your very own virtual car at its kiosks, or try landing a plane in its flight simulators. Graphic panels also display video presentations of the history of various modes of transportation.

Kids love robots, and the Robots Inc Gallery showcases the best of these technological wonders. Graphic panels and replicas of some of the most famous robots in history are on display here. Kids also get to play with the remote-controlled "slambots" at the Robo-test section.

Right next to the robots is the City Science Gallery. Scale models of the world's tallest building line up its big walls. It also features an earthquake simulation room, where visitors will get to experience how the ground shakes in the middle of an earthquake.

The Webcam Wall section at the end of the City Science Gallery has several screens of video presentations on the world’s major cities.

The upper level also houses the Virtual Reef. Guests walk through an artificial coral reef that mimics the scenes of life underwater. Towards the end of the gallery, they'll meet the talking virtual fish, Mr. T, who's ready to take on your questions about life in the sea.

The main attraction of the NIDO FORTIFIED Science Discovery Center is the DigiStar Planetarium. Short films are shown on its 360-degree dome, the most advanced of its kind in the country. The DigiStar Planetarium can seat 160 people inside its theater-like dome.

Finally, there's the latest addition to the NIDO FORTIFIED Science Discovery Center: the Gravitram. The exhibit is a nice example of artistic engineering where gravity meets human design.

As my Science teacher would say back in grade school, "Science can be fun!"
