Birthday Dinner at Pancake House

We celebrated a colleague's birthday last night at Pancake House sans the celebrant (family dinner and stuff) so we just ordered and ate what we thought will make him happy on his special day.

First to arrive is the only salad I can finish by myself, Shrimp and Mango are my favorites and the Mango dressing is divine! But I shared this with everyone last night of course. I just wished they did a better presentation rather than just tossing everything in.

After finishing the salad in under two minutes, other orders started to arrive.

Gambero

Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Pan Chicken Special Set which comes with 2pcs. Pan Chicken with Gravy,
Tuna Macaroni Salad, Buttered Toast and Iced Tea.

I always end up ordering Bonoan Fish Steak whenever I try to eat healthier and pass on anything meat-y. Feels like I'm eating a home-cooked meal with the Boneless Bangus in Steak Sauce and Salted Egg.

Classic Pan Chicken

Nothing beats ending a good meal with Banana Split shared with great friends.

Because we are thoughtful like that. *wink*

Mister Kabab Down South

I have been seeing the Mister Kabab sign at Bluewave Macagapagal for quite sometime now but never really bothered to check if its the real thing. Well, that's until I got a text from DB saying he saw it too and believes that the one we've been frequenting along West Avenue in Quezon City and the newly-opened in Bluewave is one and the same, just another branch.

While the original Mister Kabab is open-air, this branch down South is fully air-conditioned and designed to transport you to the Middle Eastern part of the world with its brick walls and floor to ceiling colored windows.

I was quite surprised to see that only a couple of tables were occupied. I was used to the West Ave. branch where its either full or we are lucky to get the last few tables available. I guess like me, people doesn't know that there's a Mister Kabab here already.

The menu is the same so it didn't take long before we made up our minds and get our usual orders.

Yogurt Shake just mildly sweetened. I like!

Pita and Hummus arrived first.

I initially wanted this Beef Chelo Kebab but later changed my mind. DB's first order, Lamb Chop was unavailable so he settled for this.

I ordered Lamb Biryani which was also unavailable (boo!). Since DB beat me in ordering Beef Chelo Kebab, I chose Beef Keema with Eggplant instead.

I only ate half of it, I find the taste a bit weird, I should've ordered Keema alone. Next time.

At last! No need to travel all the way to QC for affordable and authentic Persian cuisine. I hope they bring some more great restaurants down South soon.

Pig Out Day at Buffet 101

After months of postponing, I finally set foot at the newest eat-all-you-can restaurant in town which can easily compete with most buffet in hotels called Buffet 101, also owned by the same group who introduced Yakimix that made grilling fun and easy like 1 2 3.

As soon as I walked in, it felt like I was finally home. There's food everywhere I look!

There's bread and different types of cheese.

Various kinds of appetizers like Cold Chicken Feet, Kimchi, Thai Spring Rolls and many more.

Sukiyaki and hotpot ingredients within your reach.

All kinds of salad you think of.

Other appetizers on the table include Cold Shrimp, Spinach Tart and Smoked Salmon.

Spinach Tart

Smoked Salmon

The Chinese section which has Peking Duck and all sorts of dim sum.

Japanese section was a disappointment though. Seeing upon this now, I thought this was in Yakimix.

Salmon and Tuna Sashimi were not the freshest, some were even frozen. Boohoo!

Other dishes readily available. I passed on this because I got excited upon seeing steak, rock lobster and crab on the other side.

The Carving Station. Now we're talking..

Just choose which type of Steak you like and how do you want it to be cooked, give them your table number and a waiter will deliver it to you.

French Onion Soup

My second love -- the Seafood Station aka Dampa Style. Just like in the Carving Station, you choose the seafood you like and tell the waiter how to cook it.

The Dessert Section is also a winner. There are a lot of cakes, cookies, candies, crepe, chocolate fondue and fresh fruits.

Juice, fruit shakes, soda, coffee and draft beer also comes with the buffet rate.

And now, the girls in action.

Any buffet meal of mine is incomplete without chicken feet on my plate.

Here are some of the dishes that went in and out of our table.

Potato Salad

Sliced Beef Kenchi

Thai Spring Roll

Smoked Salmon

Medium Rare Prime Rib

Salt Roasted Shrimp, Chili Crab and Chicken Feet

Lamb

Another order of Prime Rib

US Angus Tenderloin

Mango Cheesecake

Blueberry and Cream Crepe

My friends loved the unlimited coffee

Buffet 101 Rates

I can't wait to be back! The sooner, the better. *wink*
