Executive Hotel Lounge Review: Solaire Hotel & Casino

The quest for the best and utmost value for money hotel lounge continues. This time, a review on Solaire Hotel & Casino's executive lounge that's only accessible if you're staying in one of the rooms on the club floor. Read about our stay in Solaire's bay club room here.

Ambiance and Amenities.

Nestled on the 14th floor of Bay Tower, the exclusive club lounge features modern, luxurious and elegant interiors with a sweeping view of Manila Bay. Dress code is smart casual.

One of the best things I can remember about Solaire's club lounge is its warm, approachable and non intimidating vibe. The welcoming happy smiles of the staff whenever we go visit the lounge for some snacks and refreshments is much appreciated.

Use of the business centre located in a quiet corner of the lounge is also complimentary.

Variety and Abundance of Snack Choices.

CS constantly tells me that I'm getting pickier now when it comes to food. While I love variety, its the quality that matters the most. At Solaire, you get quite a limited but well-curated selection of Asian and Western food, and I'm thrilled that everything they offered on the time we were there were the dishes I was looking forward to trying out with a little surprise here and there.

Salmon and cheese is always a good idea.

I would always go for superb taste and great presentation over a parade of dishes served in stainless food warmers anytime of the day. The liver paté was rich but the flavors perfectly blended with their homemade crisps. A dab of cream cheese also goes a long way.

Unlimited alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages.

Solaire's bay club lounge also offers limitless orders of coffee, tea, soda, shakes, fruit juice, wine and other alcoholic beverages. They also serve special drinks at night, just ask the server.

Operating Hours.

  • Afternoon tea - 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
  • Evening cocktails - 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Breakfast - 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Full Breakfast Buffet.

An appetizing sight of breads in all shapes and sizes the minute you enter the lounge.

As with our previous dining experience here, selection is incredible with a mix of freshly baked treats and other breakfast favorites. Guests can also make special orders from the chef who generously accommodated my eggs benedict with ham request.

Other Perks & Services Offered.

Overall Service.

I cannot think of a single thing or incident that would make us not go back to Solaire. The staff have been nothing short of wonderful with their genuine hospitality and generosity accorded to all guests of the hotel. Highly commendable and recommended if you're looking for a place to go this summer for a quick retreat without having to leave the city.

Boracay Favorites: Wokeria Crab Pasta House

Boracay is undeniably the most popular beach in the Philippines. Locals and foreign nationals travel to the island to experience its crystal blue waters and fine white sand. In the recent years, the surge in Korean and Chinese tourists have provided opportunities for new restaurants and food concepts to strive in the ever-challenging food industry in Boracay. Our disappointing and overpriced meal at D' Talipapa earlier that day drove us to look for a seafood restaurant worth the price and calories. Such hunt brought us to Wokeria Crab Pasta House located at D' Mall.

I noticed a lot of Koreans patiently waiting in line with us and checking out Wokeria on their phones. Good for them if they already have a following, business must be booming.

Fast and friendly service, the staff will even offer to peel the crab for you.

What we ordered

Cucumber and Watermelon Shake

Carbonara - Php380.00

Our impromptu dinner at Wokeria Crab Pasta House turned out to be our best meal of the day. The lighting, the attentive staff, the chill vibe and amazing food validated that we made the right choice of staying in line with other hungry diners. Both pasta dishes were seasoned perfectly, not too heavy, and had loads of seafood and cheese - just the way CS and I prefer it to be!

Creamy Seafood Fettuccine - Php450.00

I can't wait to be back in Boracay soon and see the developments our national and local government has done to save our beautiful treasure. And of course, try Wokeria's other famous crab dishes!
