Cherry Love

I was quite disappointed during my supermarket trips because everytime I go to the fruit section, I always see the out of stock sign *sigh*.  So imagine my delight when I saw this on the dining table one morning

I love cherries!  I even brought some on my way home hoping it won't get confiscated.

I was able to sneak-in the cherries in my hand carry to take home but I have low EQ when it comes to food *LOL*.  I finished a bagful an hour after take off.

Ooops! Sorry.

Polo Park

Another day spent at the mall since there's no outdoor activity that can be done at -45 degrees.  So let me welcome you to Polo Park.

Photo grabbed from Winnipegcity.info

Located a short eight minute drive west of downtown Winnipeg on Portage Avenue; a ten minute drive from the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport.

The province’s largest shopping center, Polo Park boasts 200 of the finest shops and services including several which are not available anywhere else in the city.  Flooded with natural sunlight, the expansive walkways are complemented by comfortable seating areas and a spacious 14-outlet Food Gallery with two adjoining restaurants. The center offers two additional restaurants, two home fashion stores and a Silver City Cinema on the perimeter of the 5,600 vehicle parking lot.

Where you can find designer items in Winnipeg

Turkey Sandwich with salad on the side for lunch

Happy to be here.

You can find Apple, Sephora, Aldo, Esprit, Payless, Quiksilver, L'Occitane, Jacob, BCBG, Roots and Lucky Brand among many others.  The best mall in Winnipeg, no contest.

A Trip to the Superstore

No matter how cold the Winnipeg wind chill can be, it still did not stop me from going to the local supermarket where relatives do their weekly grocery shopping.  The Canadian Superstore is a one-stop store, more like our very own SM Hypermarket, where you can find everything you need -- fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, canned goods and other grocery items, shoes, clothes and electronics.

Outside the Superstore

To buy or not to buy? Hmm.. to buy of course!

My loot?  A couple of chocolates and candies.  Okay, maybe more. *wink*

Breakfast All Day

Manila is 12 hours ahead of Winnipeg.  The time difference made a serious toll on my body clock, hence the jet lag for one week.

But the perfect reason to have sausage and pancakes even during lunch and dinner.

Routine

Home - work - home.

That's what a typical day for most people here is, especially during winter time when everything is covered in snow.  Since there's not much places to go at this time of the year, we spent most days visiting relatives who already moved here to catch up on each others lives.  Or in my case, ransack their kitchens. *wink*

At the Cuaderno's

Had macaroni salad and carrot cupcake (courtesy of Ate Ube) 10 minutes before lunch.
No wonder I gained 2 kilos in just a couple of days.  This is not good.

The Town.. at Night

Deserted.

Photos were taken on a Sunday snowy night at around 6pm.
