Boracay Foodie

Saw this on a couple of restaurants in Boracay:

If you are drinking to forget, please pay before you drink.

It reminded me of a couple of friends who got so drunk that they ended up sleeping on the beach.  Goodtimes! And no, it wasn't me, I still don't drink any alcoholic beverage until now thank you very much.

So before the names slip from my lips, let's get back to business *wink*.

One of the things I love about Boracay is the variety of food it offers:  Korean, Japanese, Greek, French, Mexican, Cuban, Spanish and Filipino of course -- name it and they have it!  So fitting in that perfect bikini will always be a dream because one day in the island and all the weeks I spent dieting is vanished.

Here's the reason why I gained a couple of pounds in three days:

Ole' which serves the best Spanish Tapas and Paella in town.

I am so loving the interiors, don't you?

As much as I want to have Paella Negra that day, my tummy was already crumbling and I don't think it can wait 40 minutes to be filled in.

On the table

Pollo al Curry de Madrid (Chicken Curry of Madrid)
Lomo Con Pimiento (Slices of Pork Tenderloin with
  Pimiento Sauce)
Don Vito Ristorante Italiano Gelato

waiting for my order
I had the Ferrero flavor which is their bestseller, but I find it ordinary.
Dinner at La Carmela's buffet which includes typical Filipino dishes like Pork Adobo, Chicken Curry, Pansit, Steamed vegetables and Mongolian Stir Fry.

Boracay Hawaiian BBQ

Sweet and sour sauce glazing the fall-off-the bone ribs
Potato and apple salad
MaƱana Boracay

The best mango shake ever!
Another Gelato moment.

I ordered Pistachio flavor this time and it's way better than Ferrero.
I Luv Backyard BBQ

Humorous wall
On the table

Honey Mustard Spareribs
Bulalo Steak

Dining in Boracay is always something I look forward to -- delicious food, excellent service, attentive and very friendly wait staff, always interesting crowd and most of all, you got to eat in your bikini.

This post is enough reason to go back, don't you think?

"What happens in Boracay..

stays in Boracay."

Good thing I have photos to prove them all!

Landed at Caticlan Airport on time.  It was my first time to take AirPhil Express and I must say that they have good pilots.  By good I meant safe and easy landing of course.  The flight attendants were very attentive as well.

A car, a boat then a shuttle service ride after, I was in heaven again.

It's my second time in Boracay this year, but how can you say NO to this?

One of the best weekends ever!

I got to relax most of the time and just enjoyed Boracay the laid-back way.  Only downside was I got to eat a lot since there's not much activities to do except eat, swim, eat, sleep and eat again.

Oh wait, and take photos of the beautiful island as well!

Till next time!

Almon Marina

This is THE sandwich lovers heaven.

I ordered the Sandwich and Soup Combo.

Sydney Special, which by the way is my favorite.  Roast beef + lettuce + tomato + onion + apple slices + mustard sauce on rye bread = yummy!

Sydney Special + Soup of the day + Iced Tea combo

and Pumpkin Soup

Their version is very creamy -- just the way I like it.

Reuben Sandwich of New York

It's not mine, I swear! You don't believe me?

Fine! I might have took a bite. Or two. Promise, just two *wink*.

When do I get to see you in person?

Octo boy

Meet Octo boy, one of the newer restaurants along Tomas Morato.

For friends who know me well, this would come as a surprise because I'm not really a fan of Japanese cuisine.  But because I was eager to try something new and the sound of Japanese Pizza kind of excites me, I gave in.

We ordered Octopus Okonomiyaki aka Japanese Pancake aka Japanese Pizza which is made by mixing flour, eggs, shredded cabbage, vegetables, cheese, shrimp and octopus.

I love it! Especially the generous amount of dried Bonito shavings (Katsuobushi) on top which seems to dance with the sizzling heat.

Shrimp Takoyaki

Nothing really special compared to what you can buy at the malls (except for the Bonito shavings).

I can't wait to try out their other Japanese Pancakes.  For the price of less than Php300, its definitely a steal!

If only they will open a branch in the South..

And please use plates. Do you know how hard it is to eat in a saucer??

Conrad's Cafe & Grille

Every time there's a celebration in the office or we just feel like going out for lunch, one restaurant always comes to mind.. Conrad's!

As a matter of fact, we hardly browse the menu anymore because it always somehow comes down to:

crispy tawilis
Very crunchy you can eat the head too.

kare-kare
I love the creaminess of the sauce and the bagoong that comes with it.  "Sabaw pa lang ulam na," as what my friends use to say.

gambas
 Sweet and spicy shrimp.

crispy pata
I don't know anybody who doesn't like crispy pata.

I love watermelon shakes. So refreshing!

watermelon shake
turon
Our favorite dessert! What makes it even more special is when its dipped in vanilla ice cream.

This post makes me hungry. Must. Go. Tomorrow.
