A Night of Love and Laughter at G Hotel

I was invited to a colleague's 25th wedding anniversary and renewal of vows last week at Malate Church which I failed to attend (I have classes every Saturdays now) so we just proceeded to G Hotel along Roxas Boulevard where the reception was held.

It was my first time in G Hotel and I must say that they do have a spectacular view of Manila Bay.

The bride's wedding dress and the groom's Barong Tagalog used 25 years ago was neatly kept and preserved!

It was an intimate gathering with just family and close friends -- an ideal wedding if you ask me.

Centerpiece

The tables are labeled with the key factors in having a successful marriage like Trust, Hope, Love, Support and many more.

Ladies at the Support table

A basket of hot and freshly baked bread was delivered to our table at once.

Bread and Butter

After showing the surprise video their kids prepared for the couple, the emcee announced that dinner is ready and we were instructed to go to the buffet table by batch.

On my side of the table

Potato Soup

Assorted Maki

Chicken Curry, Fish Fillet and Pork Steak

The fish fillet was a crowd favorite!

Chocolate Cake for dessert

Cupcake for souvenir

I love the contemporary design of G Hotel so a mini-photo shoot is in order.

It was indeed a night full of love, laughter and a lot dancing. The food was good, the program was fun and everyone was on their feet dancing the night away. It was such a great evening!

Again, congratulations to the newly renewed husband and wife and I hope to be a part of your 50th wedding anniversary and renewal of the renewal of vows! *wink*

A Taste of Singapore at Toast Box

I first saw Toast Box when I went to Singapore back in 2010 but the line was too long I wasn't able to buy anything to go since we we're in a hurry to go to Universal Studios. When I learned that there's now a franchise in the country, excitement is an understatement! Good thing Deal Grocer offered a promo at their The Fort branch that for every voucher which I paid for Php150, we get to order Php300 worth of food.

A month after buying the voucher, we are finally having a taste of Toast Box!

The interior is so chic and cozy.

A jar of Hainanese Kaya is a favorite pasalubong from Singapore.

On the table

Horlicks Dinosaur - Php105.00 & Ginger Lemon Soda - Php80.00

Can somebody please tell me where I can buy Horlicks here in Manila? I can't get enough of this!

Pork Floss Thick Toast - Php150.00

Anything with pork floss is a sure hit to me including this Pork Floss Thick Toast - crunchy, sweet and porky!

Whole Hainanese Chicken - Php449.00

It's hard to find authentic and delicious Hainanese Chicken in the Metro in spite of having so many Asian restaurants offering this on their menu. Toast Box's version is definitely above average in terms of quality, taste and absence of the thick layer of fat between the meat and the skin.

You can ask for more sauce if you like your chicken topped with all of it like me. The chicken rice was exceptionally good and tasty.

I'm still on the looking for the best Hainanese Chicken here in Manila, something that will blow me away. Any suggestions guys?

Something Light and Delicious at A Veneto

Its always a choice between Amici and A Veneto for quality and good Italian food. Since the closest Amici branch is in Makati, we always go to A Veneto during movie dates and quick dine outs.

We wanted to have something light and delicious that night so we ordered the Chef's Salad (light) and Oil and Garlic Special Pasta (delicious).

One thing I love about A Veneto (aside from the food) is how fast their service is. No matter how full the restaurant, it wont take longer than 10 minutes before your orders will start arriving.

Chef's Salad - Php200.00

Tossed with Caesar dressing and you're in for a healthy treat.

Oil and Garlic Special - Php305.00

Me: Stop, I have enough on my plate already (he keeps putting shrimps and squid on my pasta).
DB: Its okay, I have more pa here.

I saw his plate (he's eating in the service plate by the way) and it seemed like it wasn't running out of seafoods! I love that I don't have to feel guilty whenever he gives me the only or last piece of shrimp whenever we order a seafood meal.

The best seafood pasta I have ever tasted! Just ask the waiter to tell the chef to limit the oil so your pasta won't be swimming in it.

My colleagues and I have been craving for it for the past couple of days especially during lunch time so I hope they deliver soon. Paging A Veneto!

The Best Dessert in Manila

Whenever I ask DB what dessert he wants after having dinner, its always Sebastian's Ice Cream!

The flavors here range from the usual Cookies and Cream to the unique ones like Once in a Blue Moon (Blue Cheese ice cream).

But its the Filipino-inspired flavors that we always get like Sapin Sapin, Mangga't Suman, Latik, Tibok Tibok and Champorado.

But we do try some other flavors too.

Banana Bonanza - Php100.00 per scoop

Blueberry Cheesecake - Php100.00 per scoop

Or maybe not.

My current favorite is the Champorado flavor which reminds me of my childhood when I would put leftover champorado in the ref then eat it the following day.

Champorado - Php100.00 per scoop

Sapin Sapin - Php100.00 per scoop

Because no matter what flavor we order, we know that we are guaranteed to have the best premium ice cream available in Manila or probably in the whole country!
