Hotel Review: Hotel WBF, Fukuoka JP

Hakata or Tenjin? I've been sitting on this predicament for days before I decided to just book both! It was our first time in Fukuoka and we had 2 nights to spend in the city before and after our amazing trip to the quaint town of Yufuin so I had to book a hotel (or in this case, two hotels) so we'll have the chance to explore Fukuoka even for a short period of time.

Our first hotel, Sunlife Hotel 2.3, is located just across Hakata Station so it was the perfect spot to make sure we don't miss our train ride the next day. After spending 3 nights in Yufuin, we traveled back to the city and booked a room in Tenjin - a decision that led us to Hotel WBF.

I noticed that at least one foreign staff is available all the time as the hotel welcomes guests from all over the world. Even the local staff is quite fluent in English so communication is hassle-free.

One unique feature I love about Hotel WBF is the shampoo bar! Aside from the Pola toiletries in each room, guests have the option to choose from a wide variety of hair products for free.

Booking rooms in Japan is quite tricky as most hotels have smoking and non-smoking floors so you have to be VERY SPECIFIC if you require a non-smoking room. Our tiny double room (about 11sqm only) is equipped with basic amenities to ensure that we have a comfortable stay.

Self-serve breakfast is served from 7:00AM to 9:30AM at the hotel lobby. Guests are welcome to choose from an assortment of delicious Asian and Italian dishes including our favorite grilled saba!

Pros: Newly-renovated hotel, affordable room rates, close to the bus station and restaurants, English speaking staff, shampoo bar, delicious breakfast and free drinks at the lobby.

Cons: Small rooms and paper thin walls.
