Tim Ho Wan, HK -- The World's Cheapest Michelin-Starred Restaurant

I've read about this nondescript restaurant in the very busy Mongkok area where people line up for two hours, okay not literally line up, but wait for a table that long. I guess Tim Ho Wan, being the cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant in the world is worth the wait. From the hotel, we chose to ride the bus which means we only have to walk a couple of blocks compared to taking the MTR to Mongkok station. I saw a gathering of people from afar which was a giveaway that we've come to the right place.

Upon arrival, we immediately spoke with the person in charge of taking reservations and we were given no. 246. I was preparing myself to stand for about an hour or so when my hand was pulled and we were in!

Just 15 minutes of waiting and I am seated in a cramped space alongside locals and foreigners trying not to move too much.

Dimsum overload!

Lo Mai Kai

The best Ma Chang my lips have ever tasted. The sauce, the rice and the meat was just perfect!
This one's the first to arrive and from the moment we opened the Lotus leaf,
no words were uttered until we finished it to the last bite.

Pork Buns

These babies sell like hotcakes! Almost all tables have one or two orders of this.

Cheung Fan -- Rice noodle with Pork Asado

Hakao -- Pure shrimp, no extenders just the way we like them!

Beef Roll -- A bit salty.

Spare Rib -- Another winner! Very tasty and delicious to the bones.

A dinner meal for two which cost less than Php1000 at a Michelin-starred restaurant. How's that for a treat?!
