A Tour Around the World: Phuket and Bali Villages

Aside from its rich and colorful Thai layout, Phuket Village's main attraction is its unique black-tiled 25-meter swimming pool surrounded by lounge recliners amidst tall coconut trees. Guests can also dine at Salathip, a beautifully-designed structure with Buddha structures and authentic artifacts from Thailand, and try their delicious specialty dishes like Tom Yum and Pad Thai.

I have never been to Bali, or any part of Indonesia for that matter, but I've seen Julia Roberts' Eat, Pray, Love more than once and it always draws me back to the simple and laid-back tropical paradise setting Liz Gilbert (Julia's role) fell in love with. When I first stepped foot in this side of Balesin, I felt like I was transported to the famed Island of the Gods with a picturesque backdrop of Lamon Bay and a dramatic pathway even more romantic during the night.

As recommended by our friend, we went back to Bali Village that afternoon to catch the sunset and enjoy Nusa Dua Bar's signature Balinese cocktails. The bar is set above the water with a 360-degree view of the bay and its fine white sand. It also connects to the most coveted water villas perfect for couples who love their privacy and the sound of the soothing waves crashing the pillars.
