Vikings Luxury Buffet Restaurant Part One

As soon as I learned that Vikings Restaurant is finally opening, I wasted no time and called them up to reserve. The lady I spoke with was very courteous and told me that since they're still on a dry run, a 20% discount is offered to those who will dine from April 07 - 14 only.

Vikings Luxury Buffet Restaurant is a first of its kind in the Philippines due to the several live-action cooking stations it offers.  From American, European, Chinese, Filipino and Japanese cuisine, I knew I was in for a treat. The 600-seater tastefully decorated dining room is overlooking the Manila Bay sunset which made it even better.

April 08, 2011.  Second day of opening.

The lady showed us our table and introduced the waiter who will assist us with our needs.

Table 204.  Should you wish to have something cooked, just order, tell the chef your table
number and the waiter will deliver it to you.

The food were still being prepared when we arrived, which gave me time to go around and plan where to go first *wink*.  Unlike most buffet restaurants here in Manila, the drinks here at Vikings is included in the buffet.

A couple of minutes and a few glasses of Dalandan Juice after, we finally hit the buffet.  First stop was the appetizer section.

The Guy and the King

A night of healthy snack courtesy of The Sandwich Guy

Roast Beef Sandwich.  Generous slices of roast beef with lettuce, tomato and cheese in grilled
wheat bread.  Just make sure to order without the bacon so as not to defeat
the purpose of having a healthy meal.

and Yogurt King.

This is the cheapest Frozen Yogurt I've had at Php95 for a large cup.  Although the choices
are not as much as other yogurt places have, luckily what they have
are the toppings that I like.

Large cup of Frozen Yogurt with Peaches and Kiwi to end a very fulfilling night.

Joy's 18th at Island Cove

Time does fly so fast!

Last Saturday, we were invited to attend Joy's 18th birthday held at Island Cove Resort and Leisure Park.  Joy had been a neighbor since she was a kid and I can say that I've seen her grow from a lanky and shy girl to a confident young lady that she is today.  So there's no way the family would miss her coming out party.

It's been a while since I attended a debut.  Last time was with my sister's
which was like two years ago.

Tejeros Hall

The debutante with her escort.

If I can relive my debut, I would have the 18 Bags (where I was a part of ) and 18 Shoes as well. LOL!

Dinner time!

Lychees! I had dessert first because this is my favorite.

On my plate:  Beef Steak, Roasted Chicken, Fish Fillet, Cold Noodles,
Pork Asado and Rice.

After dinner, my sister and I went out to get some fresh air, check out Island Cove's new facilities and practice on her photography skills.

Subject:  Her ate of course!

My sister and I

Dear Joy,

Happy 18th Birthday!

I know you'll go a long successful way in life because you're smart, beautiful, determined and obedient to your parents.  Just always remember that there's a right time for everything.  Enjoy every single moment of your teenage years but know your limitations.

Good luck on your studies. It may feel like an endless parade of hardships and difficulties today but time will come when you'll get to enjoy the fruits of your labor.  Just be patient and continue to be the caring and kind lady that you are.

Love,
Ate
