Birthday Series: JiPan Japanese Bakery and Coffee Shop

This is just the first to a series of my birthday celebrations thanks to my family, friends and DB.

We originally planned to watch Transformers 3 at the Mall of Asia but DB changed his mind and so we went to Makati instead. After buying tickets at Glorietta 4, we went downstairs to have lunch at JiPan Japanese Bakery and Coffee Shop. Don't be confused by the name because JiPan is not just a bakery and a coffee shop, it's also a restaurant serving quality but affordable Japanese dishes.

On the table

JiPan's Onion Tuna Salad was so good (this coming from a self-confessed meat lover) DB had to move on to his Udon so I can eat everything.

Onion Tuna Salad -- Fresh lettuce with onions and tuna topped with
Katsuobushi and JiPan's special sauce

I'm a rice-over-noodles-type-of-girl so I had to be reassured that they do have rice toppings on the menu. I ordered the Yakiniku Set Meal which was quite a steal for Php280 only.

Yakiniku Set Meal -- Marinated Beef and Vegetables on Japanese Rice with
Tuna Sashimi, Nimono, Salad and Miso Soup

DB's order -- Ebi Tempura Udn which is JiPan's specialty and most famous noodle soup. It was very flavorful and the noodles are perfectly cooked.

Ebi Tempura Udon --  Udon Noodle Soup with Tempura

By the way, in case you haven't seen it, Transformers 3 is the bomb! Though I still prefer Maegan Fox over that pouty-lipped-always-on-an-all-white-ensemble Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
