Marco Polo Ortigas

My friends and I were supposed to go to a paradise beach in Sorsogon for the Holy Week but due to the threat of Typhoon Maysak, we decided to cancel last minute and just stay in the Metro. I guess everyone else thought of the same thing because almost all our hotel choices were already full! It was a good friend of mine who suggested for us to try Marco Polo Ortigas, one of the newer hotels in the city, which fortunately had a few more unoccupied rooms.

A five-star hotel towering at 45 floors in the centre of the Ortigas business district, Marco Polo is the epitome of the ultimate indulgence. With a total of 316 well-designed and spacious rooms, any guest will feel at home whether it be a business or leisure stay having very accommodating and hospitable staff always ready to be of service anywhere you see one. Hotel facilities include a fitness centre, an indoor swimming pool and a play area for the kids.

Since it was a holiday and the hotel is almost full, we decided to skip the pool and just stayed in our room to sleep, catch up on my favorite TV series and soak in the bathtub to relax some more. Our superior room, the most basic in Marco Polo, is equipped with a luxurious bed, an awesome view of Ortigas, complimentary wifi internet, LCD TV with cable channels, mini bar and refrigerator, a marble bath tub and Nespresso coffee machine and tea making facilities.

Complimentary breakfast is served at Cucina, an all-day restaurant with an open kitchen located in the 24F of the hotel by the lobby. We arrived a bit early so I was able to scout and snap a few photos before other guests started to come in. The selection was quite extensive having Japanese, Chinese, Continental and Filipino cuisine to cater guests' varied tastes and preference.

With its world-class facilities, hospitable staff, delicious food offerings and excellent location, it came no surprise that Marco Polo Ortigas is awarded as one of the Best Luxury Hotels in the Philippines by popular site Trip Advisor. And yes, we had a fantastic and memorable stay!
