While some may call it luck, I say fate has brought us together.
When I was younger, my idea of a vacation is one that is filled with adventure and jam-packed activities that starts early morning and ends late at night. There were even times that my flight arrives in Manila just in time for work and I get to function the entire day even without proper sleep. But now that all I can think about on weekends and holidays is getting as much sleep as I can, a staycation is probably the best thing I can get next to an out of town trip.
As I was looking for a place to stay over one weekend, this hotel keeps popping up on my screen. After checking that my preferred accommodation are either full or have jacked up their prices, I thought of giving this one a closer look.

Privato, one of Manila's most promising hotels, opened its doors early this year to cater not only to business travelers in the Ortigas area but for people who are looking for a sanctuary in the bustling city. One would be impressed with the contemporary design, chic furniture and life-sized artworks by the lobby, not to mention the expensive Italian tiles for an ultra stylish ambiance.
One thing I love about Privato Hotel is the fast and easy check-in made possible by their efficient, attentive and friendly staff. I heard this is actually managed by Enderun Hospitality, which makes Privato a great training ground for students who wish to become successful hoteliers.
The hotel features 177 rooms with three room types: Executive, Deluxe and One-Bedroom Suite.
Executive King - Php2,200++ |
Deluxe Double Queen - Php2,800++ |
Room amenities include a cable LCD television, refrigerator with complimentary bottled water, coffee and tea making facility, hot and cold shower, free and fast wifi and an in-room safe. Unlike in other hotels where there's only one or two sockets to charge your mobile devices and gadgets, Privato has several and in almost every corner of the room.
The swimming pool at the roof top is open between 7am to 7pm only, excluding Mondays.
I've been to Privato two times already in the past month, guess that's enough proof that we really like staying over and having our own piece of abode right in the smack of the city. Aside from the reasonable room rates, what keeps us going back is the warm welcome and genuine smiles we receive from the moment we step foot in Privato, things I rarely see in most hotels nowadays.
