Myeongdong Shopping District, Seoul SK

A popular hub for fashion, cosmetics and skin care products, Myeongdong is one of Seoul's main shopping district featuring international and local brands such as Uniqlo, Forever 21, H&M, Zara, The Face Shop, Tony Moly, Etude, Nature Republic, Skin Food and many others. Even if you're just sightseeing and have no intention of buying, shops will lure you in with persistent sales associates handing out freebies like face masks and product samples along the streets.

About 2 million people visit Myeongdong on a daily basis making it the busiest place in Seoul and the most expensive in terms of floorspace rental. Since a lot of tourists flock the area, most vendors can speak the English language so it won't be hard to haggle the prices especially if you're buying from the street stalls. Foreign tourists and locals also visit the area for the restaurants, cafe, theater, hair salons and historical sites scattered all over the maze-like shopping destination.

Since I rarely apply make up and Manila is welcoming the summer season soon (Seoul is transitioning from winter to spring when I was there), I spent most of the time and my Won in the streets of Myeongdong trying out as much street food as I can possibly eat. There's a stall selling handmade pizza, banana Nutella crepe, potato hotdog, tornado potato, french fry corn dogs, Korean pastries and my ultimate favorite -- fresh strawberry covered with red bean and mochi!

Watch out for more posts of my Korean adventure soon!
