Chelsea Market and Cafe

Another night of fun and laughter over good food with DB at Chelsea Market and Cafe.  A chic and homey restaurant which serves value-for-money gourmet dishes.

True to its name, it also sells fresh bread, pastries and other hard-to-find items.

Books and other knick-knacks are placed on the shelves making this family-friendly restaurant homier.

On the table

Free focaccia bread with roasted garlic, served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar

The bread was quite filling already so we skipped the salad and ordered our main course.

Grandma's Crispy Duck Confit and Mushroom Risotto

I had the Duck Confit which was tender and juicy but still crispy on the outside.
The Mushroom Risotto was very rich and creamy.

Char-grilled 'Falling off the Bone' New Zealand Lamb Ribs with Mashed Potato

It was so good DB finished it in about 5 minutes while I was halfway on my Duck Confit. He gave me
a chunk and I have to agree, it was very tasty and so soft that almost no chewing is required.

Feeling at home *wink*

I've heard bad reviews about Chelsea Market and Cafe's service but last Friday's experience was the exact opposite. The waiters, even the manager were all smiles the moment we entered the door and they were genuinely happy assisting our needs even if it was dinner time and the place is quite full.

We will definitely be back soon!
