Las Brisas de Boracay

During rainy season, tourists and locals going to Boracay Island will have to take the port at the back side of Caticlan instead of Jetty Port. These boats will land at Tagbisaan Port where the waves are not too strong cutting the boat ride to about 10 minutes only instead of the usual 30. From there, you can take either a multi-cab or a tricycle going to your resort/hotel.

Upon arriving at Tagbisaan Port, we rented a multi-cab for Php250 that took us to White House Resort at Station 1. It was a last-minute trip so we were unable to plan anything, not even our accommodation. Good thing we have kind and generous friends who offered to let us stay in their resort.

It took about 5 minutes before the receptionist told us that they are already fully booked and we had to be transferred to a nearby hotel called Las Brisas de Boracay.

From the reception area, we were led by the staff to Las Brisas, just three resorts away from White House, which will be our home for a night stay in paradise.

Hello Boracay, long time no see!

Las Brisas de Boracay is a 26-room resort located in the beachfront area of Station 1. The resort has 5-feet deep pool and a restaurant in the lobby where breakfast is served from 6am to 930am.

There are 4 types of rooms here -- Superior, Deluxe, Suite A and Suite B.

I consider myself very fortunate to have been given the most coveted room here which is Suite A. The room is furnished with a king-sized bed, a single bed, cable LCD television, air-conditioning, a spacious bathroom with jacuzzi and a veranda overlooking the white beach.

The room is clean, the bed is nice and the pillows are soft but it needs serious upgrading. The cabinets smell old so don't bother putting your clothes there and the furniture are so last century! Felt like I was in an ancestral home in the province and not in some beach paradise.

Suites A and B are almost the same except for the jacuzzi in A while B has a bath tub.

We were booked on Suites A and B so we had the beachfront veranda for ourselves only.. Sweet!

The view from our veranda

I am so glad we pushed through with our trip, it was a nice change from the rainy weather in Manila.
