Chef's Lab by Chef Bruce Lim

The supposed dinner at Chef's Lab was December last year, hence the Holiday Menu, but we were too busy that we had to reschedule. Then reschedule again until we finally have to use the voucher a day before its expiration. Since we don't frequent The Fort area, we made the mistake of parking way too far that we have to walk for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Chef's Lab is owned and operated by celebrity Chef Bruce Lim who was trained in the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu, taught by world-renowned Chef Gordon Ramsay -- the very reason we wanted to give it a try.

Since we were using a voucher, reservation a day before the visit is required. The deal is for a 4-Course Christmas Special for two priced at Php1,000 only. Upon checking my name on the reservation list, we were brought to the second floor of the restaurant and handed the menu if we wanted to order some more.

On the table

Grilled Corn Chowder

Greek Salad

Honey Glazed Salmon

The Bistro Steak was tender and oozing with flavors while the Honey Glazed Salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. Good thing we weren't too hungry because the servings were too small and not enough for sharing.

Bistro Steak

Fruit Tart

The Fruit Tart was plain and ordinary but the Chocolate Mousse was excellent! The sweetness wasn't overwhelming and it had the perfect consistency. I would gladly go back to Chef's Lab just for this.

Chocolate Mousse

It was a fairly good meal but the service was a bit slow. Since we were seated on the second floor, we had to wait longer for the waiters to come or go downstairs to call someone. I wonder what would the service like if it was a full house, chaos perhaps?
