A Taste of Hollywood's Iconic Pink's Hotdog

I have read about Pink's Hotdog in a blog before but never really took interest in it for two reasons: (1) we were on a diet and (2) its just hotdogs! But it was raining that day and we wanted to dine close to the hotel where CS and I were billeted that weekend so we agreed to give it a try. Located at the ground level, Pink's Hotdog is one of the few establishments that is now open at Shangri-La at the Fort and perhaps the most crowded being the first and only branch there is in the country.

Photos of Hollywood celebrities such as Bruce Willis, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kim Kardashian who love the hotdog stall are proudly framed and bolted in the restaurant wall.

What we ordered

St. Tropez Green Iced Tea - Php140.00

Both iced teas were good but I liked the Crimson Berry more because of its refreshing and sweet flavor. If the price was cheaper, I'd probably order another glass or two.

Crimson Berry Iced Tea - Php140.00

Homemade French Fries - Php140.00

Any burger or hotdog meal wouldn't be complete if there's no fries to go with it. Pink's version was crispy and loaded with so much flavor you'd definitely not share your basket with anyone.

A popular hotdog stall in Hollywood that's been serving the exact recipe for more than 70 years, now that's something anyone shouldn't miss for the world! It took awhile before we finally decided on our orders because everything on the menu sounded delicious.

Coney Island - Php280.00

The staff at the counter was friendly and patiently explained each of the hotdogs to help us decide. To be safe as it was both our first time at Pink's, CS ordered Coney Island -- Pink's hotdog with a choice of sauerkraut, grilled onion, relish chopped onion, mustard and ketchup while I had Pink's famous Hollywood Legend with chili, cheddar cheese, mustard and chopped onions. And oooh, it was love at first bite! The hotdog was juicy, the bread are delivered fresh everyday from Wildflour and they obviously does not scrimp on the toppings, it was definitely a piece of heaven in a bun!

The Hollywood Legend - Php280.00

I can't wait to go back and try the Bahn Mi Dog and Buffalo Wing Dog for more spice and a little bit more adventure for the palate. Its definitely going in my to-eat list in LA!
