QC's Best Kept Secret: Lola Cafe + Bar

Or was I just late to the party?

An old house turned into a restaurant, it really felt like going home to grandma for a delicious feast of comfort food because that's what my Lolas are known for -- spoiling their apo with good food!

I love the homey ambiance and versatility of Lola Cafe + Bar, perfect for family gatherings, couples on a date, barkada reunions and random night outs. While the main dining was left unoccupied, we were ushered to the enclosed lanai alongside other diners having late lunch or early merienda.

What we ordered

We were in a hurry and seeing that all tables were already served, we skipped the appetizers and went straight to the mains. CS went for the Spicy Tinapa while I excitedly wait for my Miso Tuna and Sinigang Rice, both are classic Pinoy dishes but with very interesting twists!

Spicy Tinapa - Php215.00

The Spicy Tinapa was savory but way too hot so if you plan to order this dish, better ask the staff for mild level only for better enjoyment. More tinapa flakes could also do wonders for more zest.

Miso Tuna and Sinigang Rice - Php320.00

I knew I made the right choice the moment I smelled the delicious aroma emanating from my bowl of Miso Tuna and Sinigang Rice. The rice was perfectly cooked with the sinigang broth, a simple yet genius idea to serve my favorite Pinoy dish. It had the right amount of sourness while the grilled pineapple provided more tangy and sweet flavors to the dish. The tuna was also delicious but the serving was too small in pairing with the amount of rice served in the bowl.

La Lola Cafe + Bar is a lovely place with efficient service, delectable comfort food and ample parking space. I can't wait to go back again soon and taste Lola's other offerings!
