My golden rule when dining out: Never go to a place where the menu is the same as what is served back home. Last week was an exception when I agreed to try out Recipes by Cafe Metro.

On the table:
Ang Tatlong Sikat namely
Crispy Tilapia Escabeche |
Crunchy, flavorful, sweet and sour fish. Well technically, Crispy Tilapia is what's included in Recipes' Tatlong Sikat but I just can't resist the word "Escabeche" on the menu which is my favorite.
General's Chicken |
Chicken fillet and eggplant in a sweet and spicy sauce. It was also yummy!
And the culprit for the extra rice
Gising-Gising |
Baguio beans chopped into small pieces sauteed in coconut milk with ground pork. I'm glad I tried it! Very simple dish but it's so good that you'll keep on eating no matter how spicy it is, hence the need for the extra rice.
If you're craving for Filipino food with a twist, I highly recommend Recipes by Cafe Metro. The Gising-Gising dish alone is definitely worth the visit!
