Restaurante Pia y Damaso

Oops! Sorry for my irrelevant photos, we were just trying out a new camera, oh wait, it's a lens.  It sort of cost the same so I'm confused!  Expensive hobby. Tsk tsk.

Anyway, I was at Greenbelt 5 last week and I was happy I got to try out Restaurante Pia y Damaso at last. To understand the restaurant's name, a little review of Philippine literature is in order: In Noli Me Tangere, Kapitan Tiyago married Pia Alba. After a long wait, Pia became pregnant, but she died while giving birth to Maria Clara. Rumor has it that Maria Clara's father was actually Padre (Friar) Damaso, hence, the name Pia y Damaso.

Restaurante Pia y Damaso specializes in Philippine cuisine inspired by Noli Me Tangere.

NgaNga Beef Salad -- With shredded green mango, red onions, cilantro,
arugula and haw flakes.  So appetizing, I want another round but I
need to save room for the main course.

Paella Valenciana.  Too oily, should have ordered the Tapang Usa.
Always trust your first choice!

Rellenong Bangus.  Recommended!

Main course

I was taught that it's improper to talk when you're mouth is full, but not not to
smile at the camera especially when you're mouth is full of delicious food

My overall experience with Pia Y Damaso was very pleasant.  The service was impeccable, food were served quickly, the waiters were very friendly.  There are a lot of dishes in the menu I'm eager to try out next time:  Smoked Tapang Usa, Ostrich Steak with Guava Butter, Bacalao A la Vizcaina, Sisa's Dementia and Brazo ni Doña Vicki.
