Beat the Heat at Puerto del Sol Resort

Puerto del Sol is one of the premier and highly recommended resorts located in Bolinao, Pangasinan. With its fine sand, clean waters, complete facilities and adorable rooms, I don't see why people would go somewhere else.

It was actually a toss between this and Thunderbird Resort in La Union but since the latter is fully booked on our desired date, everyone agreed to go here instead.

We got to the resort at around 10pm, that's a 7-hour drive from Tayug, Pangasinan where the wedding took place plus a quick visit at my friend's relatives in Lingayen. Felt like a never-ending road trip if you ask me.

We had no prior reservations so upon arriving at the resort, the guard had to wake the supervisor to check if there are still available rooms. The family room (dorm-type) is fully booked so we settled for the Mansion Villas at Php4,133 per night for two persons only. We got 3 rooms and paid for 4 additional persons at Php980 each since we are a group of 10.

We woke up early the following day to maximize our time at Puerto del Sol -- breakfast, swimming in the beach, kayaking, swimming in the pool and jacuzzi, picture taking and more swimming!

Don't expect to be able to swim in the deep waters of Bolinao because up until noontime, it was still low tide.

Perfect for little kids to play around.

Sand was pretty fine but they need to maintain the cleanliness here which also goes out to the guests of the resort.  I saw a lot of tiny garbage around the beach area like cigarette puffs and candy wrappers.

Usage of the kayak and canoe is free of charge for one hour per room.

Even in low tide, the group enjoyed kayaking especially near the breakwater where the waves are high.

I had the perfect summer getaway with the best group of friends in the whole world.
