Dinner Date at Tanabe

We wanted to try something new so we drove all the way to Malate to try out other restaurants. After going in circles twice, we decided to just go to the one that's already been tried, tested and approved -- Tanabe Japanese Restaurant.

What's on the table

I love how light this green tea is!

Sweet and spicy anchovies

Sweet and yummy pumpkin. Refill please?

DB let me chose what I want off the menu. So I ordered two of my favorites -- 8 Types of Sashimi and Salmon Maki.

Sea urchin, Salmon, Yellowtail, Octopus, Tuna, Lapu-lapu, Mackerel and Squid

Just look at the color of these sashimi and you'll know that they only use the freshest ingredients here.

Salmon Maki -- I can eat all of this in one sitting!

And he ordered Futomaki as expected.

This is becoming a regular thing, I guess, but who's complaining? *wink*

  1. I love the fact that there is someone else who can comment on the freshness of ingredients. Nice blog. please comment on the price though because from experience i know that places like this are often quite pricy and i would like to know before trying this place out.

  2. Hi Julian! Thank you for visiting. Truth of the matter is I always tend to forget to take photos of the menu or take note of the prices. Will be more responsible next time :)
