Palawan Food Trip: Badjao Seafront Restaurant

On our way back to Sta. Lourdes Wharf, our tour guide asked us if we've already been to Badjao, one of the more famous restaurants in Puerto Princesa. We said no and she insisted that we go there for dinner that day. She also advised us to call the reception at Purple Fountain Inn so they can arrange our reservation at Badjao Seafront Restaurant if we don't want to wait for a table.

Upon arrival at the inn, we were told that our reservation has been made and we are booked with the first batch of diners at 7pm. It was just 4pm then, enough time for us to take a bath and rest for a bit. By 6pm, we hailed a tricycle and asked to be brought to Badjao Restaurant which is quite far from the city proper. The driver gave us his mobile number so we can call him if we are ready to leave later that evening (we paid Php100 for round trip fare).

Badjao Seafront Restaurant has a cozy and homey ambiance which you will immediately feel as soon as you step inside. There's no air-conditioning but since its beach front, the cold breeze will give you chills especially when the wind blows. I even had to wear a jacket while having dinner.

Good thing we listened to our tour guide and made reservations before going here because the place was full and a lot of people were already waiting outside of this famous restaurant.

This is what I'm talking about! Fresh seafood at its finest.

What we ordered

Avocado Shake - Php95.00

The fruit shakes were naturally sweetened and barely had ice so its like sipping a glass of freshly blended Avocado and Papaya.

Papaya Shake - Php95.00

I like this Tinapa Rice so much I sometimes forget that we have other food on the table. One serving can fill 4 hungry stomachs already. We were able to finish just half of it.

Tinapa Rice - Php195.00

The Grilled Tangigue was fresh and perfectly grilled. One order is good enough for two people.

Grilled Tangigue - Php225.00

We initially planned on ordering half kilo of lobsters and half kilo of shrimps but the waiter told us that lobsters are easy to come by lately so we settled on ordering ONE WHOLE KILO OF SHRIMP!

Butter Garlic Prawns (Half Kilo) - Php750.00

Salt and Pepper Prawns (Half Kilo) - Php750.00

The aftermath.

We also had Chocolate Cake for dessert. It was delicious and moist but the serving is so small I can swallow the whole slice at once.

Moist Chocolate Cake - Php55.00

I'm glad we decided to go and have dinner here in Badjao Seafront Restaurant because I've never had so much fresh shrimp in one sitting! Another first in our food trip.

It's nice to have a photo shoot in this hanging bridge which links the restaurant to the road. If only I was wearing pants or a mosquito repellant lotion..
