Hungarian for dinner sounds nice, interesting and unique so I said, why not? One of the more famous Hungarian Restaurants in Manila is located in Makati and is called Magyar (that's what Hungarian people are also known as).
Cuisine from the Heart of Europe
National Flag of Hungary
I guess these are native beers from Hungary
I was a bit worried at first since we were the only customers that time. But I was already intrigued so we asked for the menu from the waitress dressed in their national costume. Nice right? It really sets the mood that we're having authentic Hungarian Cuisine.
The restaurant all by myself!
The menu is so interesting. Handwritten by the owner I guess.
On the table
Sausage Plate -- Hungarian sausage with 2 slices of their old country-style bread and sauerkraut
Appetizer which is a complete meal already
Lamb Paprika -- Lamb is served in paprika cream sauce with a side of lecso and spaetzle
Lamb was so soft and tender!
Stuffed Chicken -- Boneless chicken with chestnut and pork stuffing served with sauerkraut and roasted potatoes
I love the crispiness of the roasted potatoes. The chicken was also delicious.
When I said I am coming back, I meant every single word.
After our very delicious dinner at Magyar, we walked to my new favorite dessert place -- Park Avenue Dessert!
And now, the display of goodies!
I had the New York Cheesecake and a Caramel Macaron while DB had water.
And cakes and pralines to go.
One of the better cheesecakes in Manila, I still prefer Uno's version though.
One sweet day indeed.
